High-level Summary
We wish you a happy and productive 2025 year!
A small update this time due to the end of year vacations. Work on releasing GHC 9.6.7 and on building GHC with Cabal has been resumed.
Sadly for us our teammate Jeff has decided to leave the team. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours! We are thankful for everything he has done with us. On the bright side, there should be an open position in our team soon, so stay tuned.
Details
Luite: finalized the patch adding compiler flags to to switch off speculative evaluation. See GHC#25284 and GHC!13556 to be included in GHC 9.6.7.
Luite: has been preparing the GHC 9.6.7 release between the holidays. The branch is pretty close to release at the time of writing. If you have any requests for the 9.6.7 release, please let us know! See GHC#25559 and GHC!13740.
Sylvain: worked on bootstrapping GHC with Cabal.
Sylvain: worked on merging ghc-prim package into ghc-internal. See GHC#24453 and GHC!13752
